Why we started Monkfield Dental
Monkfield Dental was founded by Dr Ricardo Macedo with a clear vision: to create a dental practice where patients are treated as people, not numbers. After years of working in busy NHS and private settings, Ricardo saw an opportunity to do things differently in Cambourne — to build a practice that prioritises quality over volume, relationships over turnover.
Since opening our doors on High Street, we’ve grown into a trusted part of the Cambourne community. Our patients come from across Cambridgeshire — from families looking for a dependable dentist, to professionals seeking advanced cosmetic and implant treatments, to nervous patients who’ve struggled to find care that truly accommodates them.
Every decision we make — from the technology we invest in, to the team we hire, to the time we allocate for each appointment — is guided by one question: is this what we’d want for our own family?

I opened Monkfield Dental because I believe everyone deserves dental care that’s unhurried, thoughtful, and genuinely personal. Not a number in a queue — a person we know and care about.
With a Master’s in Dental Implantology from the University of Bristol and over 12 years of clinical experience, I combine advanced skills with a gentle, patient-first approach — especially for those who feel nervous about visiting the dentist.
