What are dental implants?
Dental implants are small titanium posts that are surgically placed into your jawbone, where they act as artificial tooth roots. Once healed, they support a crown, bridge, or full arch of replacement teeth that look, feel, and function like natural teeth.
Unlike dentures, implants are fixed in place β you won’t need to remove them for cleaning or worry about them slipping. They also help preserve your jawbone, preventing the facial changes that often come with tooth loss.
Digital planning for precision and safety. Every implant at Monkfield Dental is planned using 3D CBCT scanning and digitally designed surgical guides, ensuring accurate placement and predictable results.
Am I suitable for implants?
Most adults with good general health are suitable for dental implants. During your consultation, Dr Ricardo will assess your jawbone density, oral health, and medical history to create a personalised treatment plan.
Even if you’ve been told you’re not suitable elsewhere, modern techniques β including bone grafting and zygomatic implants β mean there are often solutions available.

Our implant options
Ideal for replacing one missing tooth without affecting neighbouring teeth. A single implant and crown provides a permanent, natural-looking restoration.
Multiple implants
When several teeth are missing, implant-supported bridges offer a fixed alternative to partial dentures. Typically 2β4 implants can support a bridge replacing 3β6 teeth.
All-on-4 / Full arch
For patients missing all teeth or facing full extraction, just four strategically placed implants can support a complete arch of fixed teeth β often in a single day.
